VIDEO: West Virginia Candidates Oppose Cap & Trade, Stand up for Coal

WHEELING, W.Va. --One of the most controversial hot button issues that divide Democrats and Republicans around the country is the Obama administration's climate change legislation, known as Cap and Trade. But here in West Virginia, the policy is widely unpopular on both sides of the aisle.

The plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 15 percent by 2020 has yet to pass in congress. The funding of this goal would charge companies for their emissions through buying permits, and in West Virginia, the policy would hurt coal. Mountain State coal accounts for half the United State's coal exports and provides over 50,000 jobs.
