GOP aide: Unemployment benefits likely passes tonight

For those of you waiting for your unemployment benefits to be extended, the wait is nearly over.  A senior Senate GOP leadership aide tells Fox that a short term extension will likely pass later this evening.

The one month extension expires on May 5, so there is no doubt Democrats will have to return to this matter very soon.  Republicans have insisted that the increase be paid for.  Democrats have said this is an emergency, with continued sky-high unemployment, so no need to pay for it.

So far, Democrats have been able to peel away just enough Republicans to get by procedural hurdles.
