Marine One helicopter departures are a common site on the South Lawn of the White House. But today's transport is going to look a little different.

Major Jennifer Grieves has been M1's aircraft commander since May 2008, and the reason that's so interesting? She's the first female ever in that position. Thursday is the last day in her rotation as pilot and to mark the day, and honor her achievement, today's crew will be made up entirely of women.

Joining Major Grieves today on Marine One will be copilot Major Jennifer L. Marino and crew chief Sergeant Rachael A. Sherman.

The three will fly President Obama to Andrews Air Force Base this afternoon. Mr Obama will then head on to New Jersey for a fundraiser and rally for Governor Jon Crozine, and then on to New York City for remarks at the NAACP's 100th anniversary conference.
