Another day, another news story questioning the character and judgment of Hillary Clinton.

This time it's a question of conducting official government business on a private email account.

First, that is not allowed.

Second, a private email account is not secure and presumably the Secretary of State needs to be communicating on a secure device. Can the State Department staffers who worked with Mrs. Clinton prove to the American people that she didn’t transmit or discuss ANY classified information on her e-mail?

Whether it's foreign money or hiding emails, these news stories are creating a narrative about Hillary Clinton trying to be above everyone else and operating under her own set of rules.

The next question will now be about how widespread the use of private email at the Clinton state department was. She was the head of the agency -- did she allow other government employees, political appointees, bypass the rules of her own department?

More On This...

Whether it's foreign money or hiding emails, these stories are creating a narrative about Hillary Clinton trying to be above everyone else and operating under her own set of rules. Mrs. Clinton's supporters try to claim that these are sexist attacks, or are being conducted by right wing nuts. But these news stories have originated with reporting by The New York Times, the Washington Post and Politico.

In the absence of any positive stories about her, the media will have nothing else to do but focus on the negative and ask questions about these stories.  That’s why her supporters are pushing to start the campaign in April rather than in late summer as was her preference. They need something positive to put out there every day to feed the beast.

And Hillary Clinton has yet to do a major media interview with hard hitting questions about the Clinton Foundation, foreign donations and now transparency. Also, where does she stand on the Iran “deal” the Obama administration is trying to close? It's the most important foreign policy decision of our time and she’s absent.

Finally, I got a note from a trusted source and friend overnight. He's an expert on politics. And my friend just said it flat out: “Hillary Clinton will not be the Democratic nominee.”

Now, I’m not willing to go that far, but you can bet I’ll be calling him today to find out why he thinks that.
