Art Basel Miami—which the New York Times called “that bacchanal disguised as the Western Hemisphere's most prestigious art fair”—begins on Thursday, December 2 and runs through the weekend.

A highlight this year: A program put together by the public arts organization Creative Time, which on four consecutive nights will transform the beachfront into different cities—Detroit, Mexico City, Berlin and Glasgow.

The program for each was put together in conjunction with an arts organization from that city; Mexico City’s portion takes place Thursday, Dec. 2 and was put together in conjunction with Museo de Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo. On hand will be Tamayo's curator, Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy, and artists including Tania Pérez Córdoba and Abraham Cruzvillegas. In true Art Basel—and Chilango—a fashion, the evening will end with a DJ set by Torolab's Raúl Cárdenas.
