She is known as one of the most beautiful women on the planet and a role model for young girls. When she won the prestigious title of Miss Universe 2011 in São Paulo, Brazil last year, the world fell in love with Leila Lopes.

We are proud to announce the release of MY Lifestyle Magazine’s 9th Edition featuring Lopes, where she sat down with Managing Editor Carlos Anaya for her last interview before the next winner is chosen.

In her intimate chat on our pages, Lopes discusses her decision to compete as a young woman in Angola and her climb to the top to become an ambassador for hope. She’s only the fourth winner from an African nation in the Miss Universe pageant’s 60-year history.

“For them to see me,” says Lopes, “to see that I am black, it was great. They treat me really well and they are so proud of me.”

And her advice for women who don’t feel beautiful?

“You have to thank God for being alive,” she continues. “Nobody knows what really a beautiful person is, so don’t worry. If you have pimples today, it’s nothing. If you have a bad hair day, it’s nothing. Feel beautiful. Feel sexy and it will shine. It will show outside.”

Don’t miss the rest of our exclusive interview with Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes on the pages of MY Lifestyle Magazine. We are also pleased to announce that Managing Editor Carlos Anaya has been selected as one of the pre-judges for the Miss Universe 2012 competition in Las Vegas this month.
