The reggaeton artist, the retired Yankees catcher and the New York City based DJ have vowed to take Latino men under their wings and mentor the next Hispanic male generation, with the help of non-profit organizations Ser and Career Gear along with Whiskey giant Johnnie Walker, which will be donating $50,000 to each organization.

“I came from the poorest area in my island. I was the guy who nobody wanted to record 10 years ago, 14 years ago. I’ve been struggling since the first day and I can tell that,” Don Omar told Fox News Latino at a promotional event Wednesday in New York City.

“It is good to be a motivator and be part of the motivation in these young Latin Americans, who are looking for the benefit their families, their future, their community,” he said.

Don Omar, whose real name is William Omar Landrón Rivera, and is at times referred as “The King of Kings” or “El Rey” (The King), adds that he wants these “gentlemen” to “never quit” their mantra in life.

“I think my story has a lot of realism,” said Don Omar. “Never quit! Never retreat! Never surrender!” he said laughing.

Posada and DJ Alex Sensation, whose real name is Javier Alexander Salazar, say they too believe whole-heartedly in Don Omar’s positive mantra.

“It is tough. If you dream something, you can achieve it with hard work and with dedication,” said the former Yankees baseball player. “I think never quit is a perfect example. Really how bad do you want it? Just go out and go get it.”

“This is going to be a great campaign,” Salazar added. “Having Mr. Jorge Posada, Don Omar and myself being there supporting these young men reach their goals, motivate them and show them a little bit of our history, what we went through to make it. [We want] to show them that it is not impossible.”

These days the three Latino celebrities are reaping the benefits of their hard work.
Don Omar has had multiple albums and songs top the Billboard charts.

His latest record, “MTO2 New Generation,” led the Latin Grammy Nominations in the rock and urban music categories. The Puerto Rican artist is also part of the “Fast and the Furious” movie franchise and has multiple radio show initiatives in New York City.

“When you choose to expose your achievements it is good,” Don Omar told Fox News Latino.

Don Omar’s long-time friend Alex Sensation has become synonymous with New York City nightlife, hosting his own show on La Mega radio station. He has also been named the first Hispanic spokesperson for the Whisky company Black Label in the Tri-State area. For his part, Posada enjoys being a retired baseball champ with four World Series wins under his belt.

Alex Sensation says that with the non profits/Johnnie Walker initiative he is also “celebrating success,” particularly “Latino success across the world and across the U.S.”

“We are really really lucky,” Posada added.

“I was very blessed. The only thing that I wanted was to be a baseball player since I was five years old. It’s the only thing that I wanted to do,” he told Fox News Latino.

“I told my English teacher when I was in third grade that that was the only thing I wanted to do. If you want it, if you want it bad enough, you can work hard enough to get it.”
