'Being Latino' This Week on Facebook

This week on Being Latino on Facebook: arts via mobile apps, monogamy, Bachata, Jennifer Lopez, April Fool’s, and a little inspiration.

Not every genre of music is everyone’s cup of tea. I mean, how often do you see Latinos listening to country music? Yet we make the assumption that every Latino will like Latino music and it’s just not true. Just as not every white person likes classic rock or country, not every Latino likes Bachata. Go figure.

Meet Jessica Sanchez's Alter Ego, Bebe Chez

Jennifer Lopez premiered her latest video on American Idol yesterday. But pre-premier talk was focused more on its raciness and her relationship with dancer Casper Smart than it was about her music. Though this may be what she wants, it is publicity after all, can we all stop being surprised that a 40 year old woman is still sexy and capable of capturing the eye of a man 18 years her junior?

April Fool’s can be a really fun time of year. With “Puerto Rico” becoming the 51st state and Mitt Romney declaring Mexican citizenship, we had quite a few of our fans up in arms.

With a week like that, we owed our fans a little bit of inspiration to get them through the next one.
