Mexican Community Celebrates Cinco de Mayo: MyFoxCHICAGO.com

Dancing in the streets in several Chicago neighborhoods as the Mexican-American community celebrated Cinco de Mayo.

Crowds gathered along West Cermak Road for the Cinco de Mayo Festival parade. Families watched and cheered as floats, bands and dancers in traditional Mexican attire made their way down the parade route. There were also games and activities for the kids.

Cinco de Mayo translates to May 5th. The day in 1862 when the Mexican army defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla.
