State officials in Georgia have made a decision to stop covering weight-loss surgery because it is too expensive, according to a press release. Starting January 1, 2012, those covered by Georgia’s state insurance will no longer receive coverage for bariatric surgery.
Georgia would be the seventh state to deny the coverage, joining Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
