Jane Fonda yesterday revealed that her doctor discovered a small cancerous tumor in her breast during a routine checkup a few weeks ago.
The actress and fitness guru, 72, added that she underwent a procedure and that it was successfully removed a few days ago.
"Entertainment Tonight" reported that doctors determined the cancer was non-invasive.
Fonda assured her legions of fans that she was completely fine as she promoted her latest exercise DVDs, part of her Fonda Workout brand.
The daughter of Hollywood legend Henry Fonda and sister of actor Peter Fonda, she has won two Oscars, for her roles in "Klute" and "Coming Home."
Fonda released more than 20 fitness videos between 1982 and 1995. The first one, "Jane Fonda's Workout," has sold more than 17 million copies.
