Since the 1980s, male rock stars have been known to wear make-up both on and off stage. But a new study shows a rising trend of “regular guys” donning ‘guyliner’ and ‘manscara,’ The Daily Mail reported.

Findings showed that more than three million British men wear make-up, with one in four of those men wearing it at least once a week, and one in eight even wearing it daily.

One in seven of the men confess to wearing a variety of products, like eyeliner, sunless tanner or bronzer, concealer and even lipstick.

However, even though these guys use some of the same products as women, it takes them half the time to get ready to go out on the town, just 21 minutes.

The trial by Opinium Reseach, included 1,800 men and proves that most men are just as concerned about their appearance as women. In fact, more than a third of men who wear make-up borrow it from their wife or girlfriend, with their approval.

“We're living in an age where male celebrities are seen wearing 'manscara' and 'guyliner' and everybody thinks it normal. It looks like metrosexual man is here to stay,” James Endersby of Opinium Research said.
