About 137,000 pieces of children's jewelry sold at two stores popular with pre-teen girls — Justice and Limited Too — have been recalled for high levels of the toxic metal cadmium.

Tuesday's voluntary recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. It was the sixth recall of cadmium products since early June, including about 12 million "Shrek" movie-themed drinking glasses distributed at McDonald's. Other recalls targeted jewelry, mostly for children.

The latest involved 19 different styles of necklaces, bracelets and earrings distributed by Tween Brands. The company had no immediate comment.
