A salmonella outbreak linked to Subway restaurants in Chicago is expanding, myFOXchicago.com reported Tuesday citing state health workers.
The number of Illinois cases linked to the Subway outbreak has gone up to 60.
All the patients reported eating reported eating at various Subway sandwich shops between May 11 and May 25. They ranged from 3 years old to 88 with seventeen people hospitalized, The Chicago Sun-Times reported.
It's still not clear what might have caused the outbreak, with one report suggesting some stores have destroyed lettuce, peppers, onions and tomatoes as a precaution.
