Sometimes it seems like Italians really know how to live. Fast cars, gorgeous women, delicious food and some of the most amazing liqueurs in the world. Happily, those liqueurs tend to evoke warm days in Rome and Venice – just the trick when brutal winter winds start blowing. And when they're paired with silky smooth liquid chocolate, the effect is dramatic. This combination of chocolate, vanilla citrus liqueur and anise-flavored Sambuca is perfect for sipping slowly by the fire after a few hours skiing, shoveling snow, or just watching the kids do any of those things.
Cook Time:
Prep Time:
Total Time:
Servings: 2
3 ounce dark chocolate
2 cup milk (adding a touch of cream or half and half helps add a bit more foundation for the liqueurs to play off of)
2.5 tablespoon sugar
1 ounce tuaca
.05 ounce sambuca
Chop the chocolate and combine all the non-alcoholic ingredients in a saucepan and heat to a low simmer until all the ingredients are a smooth silky looking mixture.
Remove from the heat and add in the liqueurs.
Add into mugs, grab some biscotti and sip and dip until the last traces of cold are banished from your home.
