The Cadbury Crème Egg has a new neighbor in the candy aisle — or should we should call it a friendly competitor?

The seasonal sweet, which has long been one of the most popular egg-shaped candies on the shelf, may have some serious holiday-time competition from a brand-new Reese's treat this Easter.

And no, we're not talking about Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs.

This spring, Reese’s is debuting their new Reese's Peanut Butter Crème Egg.

A spokesperson from Reese's described it as a "three dimensional egg, filled with Reese’s signature Peanut Butter, covered in creamy milk chocolate."

Reese’s fan are already taking to social media to share their excitement, with one even quoting Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and describing the event as a "fantasy."

Another excited fan has already declared a clear winner in the sugary showdown, writing, "Who needs Cadbury?" under his post.

Could this be the beginning of an Easter-candy coup?

Reese’s new the crème filled eggs are currently being sold at Walmart locations across the U.S., according to Spoon University. The site also confirmed that a five-pack of the eggs is priced at $3.48.

Of course, whether you choose Cadbury Creme Eggs or the new Reese's treat, one company will reign supreme in the Easter basket. Hershey's owns both brands in the U.S.
