Is it a Tagalong or a Peanut Butter Patty? Are they Trefoils or Shortbread?
Depending on where you live in the U.S., Girl Scout cookies may go by one of two distinct names. But there is one thing plenty of Americans agree on-- those seasonal sweet treats are absolutely delicious.
A recent state-by-state survey of the country's preferred Girl Scout Cookies has finally confirmed what many a chocolate-mint lover has always known to be true — that most Americans can’t wait to polish off a whole box of Thin Mints.
According to a nationwide poll conducted by product discovery and review site Influenster, Thin Mints were determined to be America’s favorite Girl Scout Cookie by far.
The minty treats, which the Girl Scouts' official website describes as “round, mint-flavored cookies with a delicious chocolaty coating,” managed to win over more states (24) and earn more individual votes, in total, than any other cookie.

Caramel deLites, also known as Samoas in certain regions, came in second (winning over 18 states), followed by Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs (6 states plus D.C.) and finally Peanut Butter Sandwiches, a.k.a. Do-Si-Dos captured the hearts of just two states.
The remaining varieties of Girl Scout Cookies, including Lemonades, Shortbread (or Trefoils), Thanks-a-Lots, Savannah Smiles, Trios, and Toffee-tastics, didn’t rank as any state’s favorite cookie.
Influenster did not include S’mores, one of the newest Girl Scout Cookies, among the survey options, but noted that only a third of those polled were aware of the cookie’s existence.
Have a look at Influenster’s cookie map to see which cookie your home state preferred. Then get yourself a glass of milk and tear into a sleeve of Thin Mints like nobody’s watching.
