Oenophiles and wine novices can't enough of the stuff-- now candymakers are getting in on the craze. First, Sugarfina caused a serious sugar rush with their Rose All Day Bears, that spawned a waiting-list 1000s deep.
This week, Los Angeles-based chocolatier Compartés released its "Roses & Rosé" chocolate bar-- a bright pink, white chocolate confection infused with real French wine, then blended with crystalized rose petals.
Rosé, once considered the gauche beverage of choice, has become synonymous with luxurious summer stomping grounds like the Hamptons-- due in large part to the success of a select few brands.
Not quite a white, and definitely not a red, rosé wine is created from a combination of grapes-- including grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre-- and gets its Insta-worthy hue from a quick period of contact between dark grape skins and clear juice before final processing.
