It’s only been a week since Hershey’s rocked the internet by announcing the ultimate Reese’s mashup—Reese’s Pieces filled Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

They’re not officially on store shelves for a few months but Chew on This was able to snag a couple samples. How do they actually taste? If you’re a Reese’s fan, get ready for the ultimate chocolate-ly, peanut buttery experience.

“It’s like a little surprise inside!” said one taster.

The rumors are true. Reese's is stuffing their classic peanut butter cups with Reese's Pieces for an extra crunchy treat. (Hershey's)

Many people fall into Camp Pieces--those who favor crunch and M&M-style candies-- or Camp Cup-- people who enjoy their candy a little smoother. The new treat combines the best of both worlds.

The Reese’s Pieces stuffed King-sized Big Cup is double the thickness of an average Reese’s cup to make room for the candies stuffed inside. We were worried the candy shell would get lost in a sea of sweet peanut putter-- but the crunchy, little Pieces definitely hold their own.

“It’s awesome. It has that crunchiness so it’s like eating a Reese’s Cup and M&Ms at the same time,” said one self-proclaimed peanut butter loving taster.

“It tastes like what you would expect but the crunch is really cool. Why didn’t they make this before?”

Each bite has a bit of Piece’s crunch, but a few people thought the treat wasn’t crunchy enough and would have opted for even Pieces stuffed into the cup.

And there was one purist who thought the Pieces took away from the authentic Peanut Butter Cup experience.

The whole confection is slightly crunchy and super creamy—and there’s plenty of it. Even the major Reese’s fans among us had trouble putting away a whole cup.

“I feel like I’m getting diabetes just looking at this thing.”

The crunchy, peanut-buttery goodness hits store shelves this July. The brand new candy will be available in two sizes—standard ($1.29) and the double-sized King Big Cup ($1.99)  for those who stomach double the chocolate-covered peanut butter.
