A Domino’s customer from Berkeley, Calif. got an special side with his recent pizza order.

Last week, Mike Vegas ordered pizza and some wings from his local Domino’s. He ate a slice and decided to save the rest for later but did not notice anything out of the ordinary, reports KGO-TV.

But after several hours, Vegas says he received numerous calls and messages from the delivery driver who had been on his way to the bank with a stack of cash in a box meant for wings.

“My phone started blowing up and I wasn't looking at the random messages. I was at work so I wasn't answering," Vegas said. After returning home, Vegas opened his fridge to a big surprise.

"About 5 a.m., I got home from work and went to my refrigerator and pulled out what I thought was wings. It turned out to be 1,300 bucks.”

Initially, Vegas wasn’t sure what to do so he decided to solicit public opinion.

"I wrote a Facebook post and of course there's a long list of people arguing you should keep it, you shouldn't keep it,you should keep it, you shouldn't keep it" he told KGO-TV.  "I wanted to keep it, believe me. But I can't, I can't do that."

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

He allowed the local news crew to tag along with him as he went back to the Domino’s location to return the box of money.

"Thank you so much for this, honest people are hard to find these days," the location’s General Manager Zia Mumtaz told Vegas.

For his honesty, Vegas is receiving a major reward: free pizza for a whole year.
