A good burger is subjective. But whether you prefer a meaty steakhouse patty topped with shaved truffles, or just a slider studded with grilled onions (we're looking at you, Harold and Kumar), everyone has a favorite.

But no matter what your preference, you can probably find something to salivate over in The Daily Meal's newest ranking of the 101 Best Burgers in America. The site recently comprised a list of the country's top hamburgers with the help of online reviews, published "best-of" lists and more than a few experts, including famed steak purveyor Pat LaFrieda. At the end of their research, The Daily Meal had almost 200 contenders to choose from, including everything from thick "rare beef buzz" burgers to thin "smashed"-and seared sandwiches.

The list was further whittled down by 50 of the finest food writers, bloggers and journalists The Daily Meal could find. Each was instructed to vote only on burgers they've actually tried, resulting in a lean (but not too lean) list of the top 101. For the purposes of their acticle, however, The Daily Meal did not include hamburgers from burger chains that boasted multiple locations, like Shake Shack, Five Guys or White Castle. (We'd now like to apologize for getting your hopes up, Harold and Kumar.)

So, without further ado, below are the top 10 burgers in America. And if you're still hungry for more, head over to The Daily Meal for their entire list.
