Stars' most embarrassing moments
Everyone makes mistakes, but when celebs mess up, they often do it in public.

When Stars Make Us Cringe

Actor Fred Willard was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly was caught, er, exposed, at a XXX movie theater.

But he's not the only star who has had cringe-worthy moments.

Mariah Carey isn't known for being the sharpest crayon in the box. She's had some eyebrow raising comments over the years, but her alleged take on being "skinny" really tops the cake.

"Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry," she reportedly once said. "I mean I'd love to be skinny like that but not with all those flies and death and stuff."

Miley Cyrus

The young star has done a decent job of staying out of trouble, albeit with a few poor decisions.

Pictures showed the "Hannah Montana" star having a very good time celebrating her 18th birthday. In the pics the star was suspiciously holding a bong and giggling. She later said they were smoking the psychedelic, but legal, herb salvia.

Uh huh.

Kathie Lee Gifford

Live interviews can be tricky for anyone, including seasoned professionals.

Although Kathie Lee Gifford has been in front of the cameras for decades, she had a very unfortunate incident earlier this year when she asked Martin Short about his deceased wife Nancy as if she were still alive.

He handled the situation like a pro and went on to defend Kathie Lee saying, "people make mistakes."

For her party Kathie took to twitter to apologize, writing, "I send my sincerest apologies to @MartinShort and his family."

She continued: "He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I'm so grateful."

Janet Jackson

Who can forget when Janet revealed a bit too much skin after performing with Justin Timberlake?

Janet's Superbowl halftime show with the "SexyBack" singer has it's own wikipedia page, that's how famous it is!

Christina Aguilera

The singer botched the lyrics of the national anthem at the 2011 Superbowl.

No big deal; Only 111 million people worldwide were watching.

David Hasselhoff

Everyone does silly things after having a few cocktails, but luckily for most, it's not caught on camera.

A disturbing video surfaced in 2007 of the former "Baywatch" star crawling on the floor messily eating a hamburger and slurring profanities.

At his daughter.

Vanessa Hudgens

The "High School Musical" star took some "private" pictures that were "leaked" in 2007.

The then-18-year-old star was mortified, and later apologized. "I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me," she said. "I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."

Ashlee Simpson

Jessica Simpson's younger sister was caught lip-syncing on "Saturday Night Live" in 2004. She came out saying she had a sore throat and had no choice, and a slew of other excuses, but at the end of the day, millions of fans heard the music play while she wasn't singing.

During which she did an ugly little jig, too.

Tom Cruise

The sometimes serious actor can be quite quirky at times. There are two incidents that truly standout.

First is when he appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2005 and jumped on her couch to exclaim his love for now-ex-wife Katie Holmes. But that wasn't the only time that his excitement got the best of him. In 2008, he laughed so hard on "The Late Show with David Letterman" that he passed gas. Loudly.

Jessica Simpson

During her years filming "Newlyweds" with ex-husband Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson had several blonde moments. The most famous is when she asked her hubby at the time if she was eating chicken or fish.

"Is this chicken what I have, or is this fish?" she asked about her Chicken of the Sea tuna fish.
