Demi Lovato performed an emotional and gripping interpretation of her hit single "Skyscraper" on the live results edition of DWTS Tuesday night.

Upon Lovato's performance, an unexpected turn of events sent George Clooney's ex, Elisabetta Canalis home.

"It was a gift everyday staying here,” Canalis said choking up. “I want to thank everybody who voted for us."

In recaps of performances and behind- the-scenes snipets of  the previous evening, Top contender J.R. Martinez said the voting process keeps him on edge.

"My faith is in the hands of America," said Martinez. "So, I hope they voted."

"I want to stay on top of the litter point no way I'm going down," he added. "I have to work even harder to stick around."

Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff earned a solid 22. For the past two weeks the judges have told Martinez he has put on one of the best performances.

"You have a feel for the music within you!" judge Bruno Tonioli told Martinez. "[You are] charismatioc and athletic."

Despite being one of the top teams, Martinez says they deserved a higher score from the judges.

“I feel we were robbed,” Martinez said.

Former talk show host Ricky Lake is also a top contestant earning a score of 23.

Next week the contestants will have to win the crowd by interpreting a dance symbolizing a major struggle that has shaped their lives.

DWTS is a weekly dance competition and reality show where celebrities are paired up with professional dancers and compete for the opportunity to win the coveted disco ball shaped trophy.

Past winners, such as Nicole Scherzinger from the X Factor, Olympic gold medal gymnast Shawn Johnson and singer Donny Osmond, have taken their careers to the next level after winning the DWTS championship.
