The NFL is denying reports that they have asked Lady Gaga not to speak about the recent election during her upcoming performance at the Super Bowl.

Gaga, who will perform the halftime show this year, had been vocal during the election regarding her support for Hillary Clinton and her distaste for President-elect Donald Trump.

But rumors that she has been banned from talking Trump at the Super Bowl are false, the NFL says.

"This is unsourced nonsense from people trying to stir up controversy where there is none," an NFL rep told TMZ.

"The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together. Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren’t going to be distracted by this."
