Grace VanderWaal and Jon Dorenbos continued to look like the acts to beat as “America’s Got Talent” is just hours away from revealing its $1 million winner.
The 12 year-old singer-songwriter from Suffern, New York — closed Tuesday night’s live performance episode with yet another original song, “Clay.”
Her lyrics are hard to understand at times, but the sixth grader has appeared to be the act to beat all season.
She advanced through the early part of the competition by earning judge Howie Mandel’s golden buzzer and Simon Cowell’s label as “the next Taylor Swift.”
“Grace has to win,” Mandel declared on Tuesday. “This is my favorite moment of the night.”
But she could face a serious challenge from NFL star and magician Dorenboss.

“You are more than just a great performer,” judge Simon Cowell praised. “You are someone who I think we would all be glad to say, ‘The winner of this show is John Dorenbos.’”
Also among the Top 10 finalists competing Tuesday were: teen opera singer Laura Bretan, music quartet Linkin’ Bridge, crooner Sal Valentinetti, mentalist duo The Clairvoyants, singer Brian Justin Crum, contortionist Sofie Dossi, juggler Viktor Kee and prop comic Tape Face.
The ultimate winner will be decided by America’s vote.
The season 11 champion will be revealed Wednesday evening on NBC.
