Actress Theresa Saldana, who is best known for her role on “The Commish” as well as being the center of a highly-publicized stalker attack has died at the age of 61, Variety reported Tuesday.
Saldana was reportedly hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles but no cause of death has been given.
The actress founded the Victims for Victims organization after surviving a stabbing attack by a stalker in 1982. She advocated for anti-stalking laws, then starred as herself in the 1984 TV movie “Victims for Victims: The Theresa Saldana Story.”
Michael Chiklis, who played her husband on “The Commish,” tweeted his condolences to her family upon hearing the “painful” news.
Saldana had small television roles on “The Bernie Mac Show,” “All My Children,” and “Law and Order.”
The actress also starred alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in “Raging Bull” but stopped acting in 2004.
