It’s been 20 years since the Spice Girls’ hit “Wannabe” was first released.

In lieu of any official anniversary celebration, Eva Longoria – a self-described “aspiring Spice Girl” and BFF of "Posh Spice," alias Victoria Beckham – did a dramatic reading of the song with a telenovela spin  for Mashable.

It works.

As she recites the lyrics (and interjections) of the 1996 hit, Longoria displays an array of emotions before breaking down as she declares, “I wanna ... I wanna ... I wanna ... I wanna ... really, really wanna ... zig-a-zig, ha!”

No reaction yet from the original Spice Girls – who were in awe of Adele’s performance of the same song during “Carpool Karaoke” on "The Late Late Show with James Corden."

"Huge Adele fan! This is genius!" Beckham wrote on Twitter. "Thank u @adele and @jkcorden #ilovemyspicegirls X posh."

In the meantime, Longoria is waiting to hear if her NBC show “Telenovela” will get picked up for a second season.

Speaking to TV Insider recently, the actress said the network has been “super happy with the ratings and the critical acclaim.”

“They were blown away by all our great reviews. And they’ve been 100 percent supportive from, ‘Let’s shoot more promos!’ to ‘Hey, let’s name Monday Queens of Comedy Night!’ They’ve had great social media ideas and are always thinking about how to help the show. It’s a great vote of confidence,” she said.
