ABCs Dick Clarks New Years Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC delivered another potent ratings delivery. Featuring a performance by Carrie Underwood, the special drew a 10.0household rating in the metered marketsfrom 11:30 PM-1:15 AMand a7.5rating among adults18-49 in the local people meters. That was down7% from last year in households and up 3% in the demo.

Rockin’ Eve once again dominated the competition. From 11:30 PM–12:30 AM, NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly, which did not have a primetime portion this year,averaged a 4.3 household rating and a 2.7 in 18-49, down 12% in households and 13% in 18-49 from last year.

Fox’s Pitbulls New Years Revolution—featuring the headline-making Miss Colombia, runner-up at last month’s Miss Universe contest—perked up in its second outing. The late-night portion of the special loggeda 3.1 households rating and a 2.7 in 18-49, rising 19% from last year’s debut in households and 23% in 18-49.

The growth also carried over to primetime, where the second edition of the Pitbull-hosted special logged a 0.9 rating in 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers from 8-10 PM in the fast nationals. While still modest, the delivery was up 29% from last year in 18-49 and 17% in total viewers.

In primetime, the broadcast New Year’s Eve programming faced the high-rated Cotton Bowl on ESPN. Despite that, two broadcast specials posted year-to-year increases. Dick Clarks Primetime New Years Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest from 10-11 PM drew a13.1 million viewers and 3.9ratingin adults18-49 for ABC. That was up a fraction from last year’s 12.8 million viewers and a 3.8 fast nationals results to log the second-largest audience since the special was relaunched and expanded to primetimein 2000.

ABC’s venerable special, which once again towered over, was helped by a weaker NBC competition as NBC opted to replace its primetimeCarson Daly program with a new special,New Years Eve Game Night with Andy Cohen, which brought ina1.0 in 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall from 10-10:58 PM,down fromNew Years Eve with Carson Daly’s1.5 rating and 5.4 million viewers last year. New Year’s Eve Game Night was on par in 18-49 and dropped in viewers from its lead-in, NBC’s traditionalA Toast to 2015!clip special (1.0 in 18-49, flat with last year, 4.8 million viewers from 8-10 PM, virtually identical with last year.)

With the 8-10 PM portion ofDick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special (2.3 in 18-49, even with last year), the networkdominated primetime, beating the combined 18-49 deliveries of NBC, Fox and CBS by 12%.
