Audrina Patridge, best known for her role on MTV’s “The Hills” opened up to FOX411 about her time on reality television and how she will never allow her children to pursue that life.
“You completely lose all privacy,” the 30-year-old said. “Everything you do and everything you say — everything is public and everybody is entitled to your life and putting an opinion on it and judging it. It kind of makes it hard. I made some silly decisions, and I had to do it on TV and it was a fine line between real and fake.”
The former reality star revealed she walked away from “The Hills” with a tough skin, but the experience has taught her not to trust everyone.
“I was way too naive and too trusting and too nice,” she admitted. “You can’t just trust everyone.”
And another thing she learned is that one day when she has children, there is no way they will enter the reality business.
“I’m too protective and I know too much about it. I would never let my kids go into that.”
These days Patridge has put MTV behind her and she remains focused on other projects. For the holiday season, she partnered with Kahlua to make the perfect holiday drink, and she has been working as the host of NBC’s travel show, “1st Look.”
“Just finished filming the rest of ‘1st Look’ for me for this season, and what I’ve filmed these past few months will air until January and February," she said. "I’ve just been enjoying my time off and working on a new project we are launching in January or February; I can’t say what it is yet.”
Patridge, who is often snapped in sexy and stylish ensembles, shared her secret to always looking great.
“You have to eat healthy; I guess you are what you eat,” she said. “If you want glowing skin you have to eat vegetables, you have to exercise and you have to laugh a lot. Life’s too short to be serious all the time. Be with people who make you happy and capture those moments.”
