Bette Midler took jabs at Tom Brady and Anna Wintour at a God’s Love We Deliver gala on Thursday between handing out the night’s Golden Heart Awards.
Midler presented the org’s former board of directors Chairman Michael Sennott with an honor, quipping, “He’s helped raise [more than] $37 million. In the fund-raising world . . . this makes him LeBron James, Roger Federer and Tom Brady all rolled into one. Well, maybe not Tom Brady . . . I didn’t say anything about deflated balls. Be quiet.”

She also joked about fashion designer Michael Kors, whose name is on the charity’s new Soho building. “Michael wants everyone to have a meal. So much so, that he stopped slapping sandwiches out of people’s hands. I heard he even offered Anna Wintour a 1 ¹/₂-calorie Tic Tac.” (Even Wintour was chuckling at that one.)
Kors presented Neil Patrick Harris with an award for outstanding community service, and the “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” star said that he and husband David Burtka will be volunteering for the charity over Thanksgiving.
