Perhaps Sherri Shepherd is dealing with her personal drama the best way she knows how — with humor.

The 48-year-old actress returned to her old stomping grounds, “The View,” on Thursday to co-host. While her appearance was enough to tune in, it was her comments about giving away babies that grabbed everyone’s attention.

During the Hot Topics segment, co-host Raven Symone chimed in how much she wanted a baby in her life. Shepherd joked, “Girl, I got one or two, you could have one of mine. I’ll give them to you.”

She continued and clarified her joke, adding, “Women with kids are like, take mine.”

Shepherd and her soon-to-be ex-husband Lamar Sally have been engaged in a bitter custody battle over their surrogate son born last August.

As the show progressed, the topic of divorce came up — something Shepherd knows all too well. She was previously married to Jeffrey Tarpley, with whom she shares 10-year-old Jeffrey Jr., and is currently divorcing Sally.

“Girl, don’t tell me about divorce being expensive,” she quipped. “I’ll tell you about divorce being expensive.”

In retrospect, she wishes she had listened to her best friends when her marriage was in trouble.

“I actually feel like if I had listened to my best friends, I wouldn’t be having a million attorneys in my life right now.”

She added, “I think — the wonderful thing about best friends is they don’t hold it against you. So all the stuff that I’m going through now, all of my best friends who told me, ‘Sherri, don’t do this,’ they welcomed me back with open arms.”

Shepherd even dished on how Whoopi Goldberg was tremendously supportive, even after warning her.

“Nobody ever said ‘I told you so,’ especially Whoopi Goldberg, because she came in my room every day and was like, ‘Here’s the red flags.’ She came and said, ‘I got your back.’ So I love all my best friends.”

Shepherd and Sally called it quits after three years of marriage back in May 2014.
