NEW YORK – Willie and Korie Robertson can’t wait for son John Luke’s wedding—and they won’t have to wait long, since their eldest son is getting married this summer.
The couple dished about the wedding to FOX411 at the A&E Upfronts on Thursday.
“We’re meeting with the wedding planner Monday and things are coming along,” Korie Robertson said. “It’s this summer.”
She said the family is struggling to put together the long invite list.
“The hardest part is figuring out the invite list,” she said. “We’ve got big families.”
Willie Robertson said their tight-knit family –especially his teen children– are at the age where they get embarrassed by mom and dad.
“I embarrass them a lot. I embarrass the heck out of them but that’s kind of my job,” he said. “It’s fun playing that role.”
He added the kids can also be embarrassed by another member of their reality TV family: “Sometimes their grandfather.”
The kids’ outspoken grandfather, Phil Robertson, has made headlines for his uninhibited rants.
But Willie Robertson said his kids know how to handle embarrassment.
“We’ve taught them to laugh at themselves,” he said, “and we can certainly laugh at ourselves.”
