Meghan Trainor fans are divided over her new music video for her latest single "Dear Future Husband." While some are calling the video "sexist," others are coming to the pop singer's defense.
Trainor, who has previously been praised for promoting healthy body image for women with her song "All About That Bass," is now at the center of an online debate over her new song.
The 19 year old is seen in a variety of 1950s-style outfits scrubbing floors and baking. She sings about asking her future husband to buy her flowers and treat her right.
"I'll be the perfect wife/Buying groceries/Buy-buying what you need," sings Trainor.
While some have deemed it "sexist," others praised the singer for lyrics such as, "You got that 9 to 5/ But, baby, so do I/ So don't be thinking I'll be home and baking apple pies."
It's not the first time "Dear Future Husband" has come under fire. The song was criticized back when it was released for what some claimed was a striking similarity to Olly Murs "Dance With Me Tonight," which was released in 2011.
