A Massachusetts women's college has canceled its annual production of the "Vagina Monologues" because it isn’t inclusive to transgender students.

A student-run theater group at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass., has decided not to perform the "Vagina Monologues" on Valentine’s Day this year because it didn’t want to offend transgender students, the Washington Post reported.

The theater group has performed the "Monologues" for the last 20 years. This year, it took a student survey to see if it should continue the production. The feedback resulted in its cancellation.

The play, written by Eve Ensler, features stories about sex, love, birth, menstruation and violence.

The college has recently altered its entrance requirements to admit transgender students.

The students plan to create their own version of the "Vagina Monologues" that will be inclusive to transgender students.
