Nick Cannon made it official: he and Mariah Carey have split — no two ways about it.

During an appearance on “Good Morning America” promoting his new Christmas book “Roc and Roe’s 12 Days of Christmas” on Monday, Cannon confirmed that the two have separated while talking with host Lara Spencer.

“You and I were just talking, Mariah and you are separated. Christmas is about family first and foremost,” she commented.

“Always focus on family,” Cannon responded. “We’ll forever be family. At the same time, we’re there for our children, making them the No. 1 priority and understanding they’re loved and can have an amazing holiday.”

The couple has been the subject of divorce rumors for the past few months. The first reports came out in the summer, saying that the two were living in separate homes and that Carey had started the divorce process.

Around the same time, Cannon took to Twitter to deny any drama surrounding their separation and calling out tabloids on their truthfulness.

“I love @MariahCarey and that will never change,” he wrote. “So to see false reports in the media stating otherwise is absurd. While I would like to remain silent, I can no longer allow this to happen.”

Carey, 44, and Cannon, 34, got married secretly in the Bahamas in 2008 after just six weeks of dating. Exactly three years later, the couple had twins, a boy they named Moroccan and a daughter, Monroe.

Despite their separation, the “America’s Got Talent” host said the former couple and their kids will spend the holidays together like they usually do.

“It’s always a house full of people and pets and dogs. Christmas Eve we like to have sleigh rides and reindeer,” he said on GMA. “It’s a lot of fun. So when you read the book ["Roc and Roe’s 12 Days of Christmas"], everything seems over the top, but it really happens.”
