Before filming began for 2012's "Skyfall," there were rumors that Spanish beauty Penelope Cruz would be added to the coveted list of Bond girls.

Back then, the role went to Naomie Harris. But it looks like fans might get their wish of Cruz joining Daniel Craig’s untitled fourth James Bond film.

The 39-year-old Oscar winner’s name was reportedly included in a release schedule leaked from Sony Pictures and obtained by several British tabloids.

A source reportedly told Britain’s “The Sun” that the producers have “been chasing her since Daniel became 007 in 2006. But schedules and her pregnancies meant it never materialized." At this stage, no one at Sony will confirm it.

The studio said it does not comment on rumors.

If she is chosen, Cruz would be the oldest Bond girl since the series began in 1962. Honor Blackman, who was 39 as Pussy Galore in “Goldfinger” in 1964, currently holds the title.

The “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” actress would also be the first Bond Girl to be married to a former Bond villain. Husband Javier Bardem played villain Silva in “Skyfall.”

The untitled project is due to start filming later this year for a 2015 release. Craig, Ralph Fiennes (as spymaster M) and Harris (as secret agent Miss Moneypenny) have already re-signed to appear in the film. Screenwriter John Logan and director Sam Mendes will also return.
