Miranda Lambert has plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Not only is she looking ah-mazing lately thanks to a dramatic weight loss, but her hubby, fellow musician Blake Shelton, has been supporting her goals every step of the way. And if that’s not enough, the 30-year-old country star has earned seven nominations for the 49th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, taking place in Las Vegas April 6. And of course, there’s also her upcoming album, Platinum, set to be released on June 3.

So why was she suffering from a case of the jitters? You can thank one famous blonde for that.

One of the highlights of Lambert’s 16-song collection is a duet with country crooner Carrie Underwood on “Somethin’ Bad.”

“To me, this is such a big deal that Carrie and I are singing together,” Lambert told PEOPLE Country. “It took me forever to write the email to ask her, like I was writing to someone I had a crush on and you don’t want to mess it up.”

And Underwood playing hard to get didn’t exactly help matters. Talk about making a woman wait by the telephone, or in this case, the computer.

“It took a week for her to get back to me and I was telling [my husband] Blake, ‘She hates me, she hates the song, she’s never going to talk to me again, she’s probably going to change her email address!” Lambert told the magazine.

And then, after what must have felt like forever?

“She finally wrote me back and said, ‘I think it’s awesome, let’s do it!’” Lambert said.

But the jitters didn’t exactly end there.

“When she came in the studio I was writing to Blake, ‘I’m in over my head, I don’t know what I’ve done!’” she said. “When you respect someone like that you get so nervous. To hit the notes she hits, I would have to take off running and jump as high as I could.”

Now, Lambert's hoping for another collaboration between the two.

“I hope she’ll come to the dark side and we can explode something on video!” says Lambert. “I want the ‘Before He Cheats’ Carrie!”

We can see it, can you?
