Nirva and Seth Ready were both leading background vocalists for some of music’s top performers like TobyMac, Chris Tomlin and Donnie McClurkin, but now the husband and wife team are taking center stage in their own right.
They are set to release their debut album, “I Need You” on December 17.
“We co-wrote a lot of it and so some of it flows from our hearts, the melodies just came from songs we’ve been working on,” said the duo in an interview with Fox News’ Lauren Green.
Nirva and Seth met each other while traveling on the road.
“I was singing background for TobyMac and he was traveling for Kirk Franklin and there was a Billy Graham crusade … and a mutual friend introduced us,” said Nirva.

“Five years we started loosely writing with friends … over the years we’ve started collecting them … we were like, why don’t we just put these together,” said Seth.
Both singers say they find inspiration from different music genres.
“It is a bit of a mix of all the people we’ve worked with over the years … I have gospel influences and R&B influences,” said Seth. “I have more pop and some rock actually,” said Nirva.
Nirva says the title of their album, “I Need You,” represents her close connection to God.
“I’ve experienced life without Him and trying to do things on my own … trying to find significance, love and just purpose … and now coming to the realization that I really do need him in my life,” said Nirva.
“The constant connection and interaction with God and that’s what we know we’re desperately in need of,” said Seth.
