Cameron Diaz is about to make her onscreen musical debut.

The 40-year-old actress has officially signed on to star in the new film version of the beloved children’s musical “Annie,” which is being created with the help of producers Jay-Z and Will Smith.

Diaz won the role of the role of Miss Hannigan. Deadline TV reported that “The Heat” star Sandra Bullock was originally in talks to play the wicked orphanage matron but has since backed out.

While Diaz is not known for her vocal gifts, her comedic chops are what many speculate won the Cuban actress the role.

The adorable Quvenzhane Wallis, who this year became the youngest actress ever to receive a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role in Beasts Of The Southern Wild, will star in the titular role.

Another acclaimed actor, Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, has been cast as Annie’s adopted father Daddy Warbucks.
