Jennifer Lopez Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
JLO received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contribution to the music world. The mogul and triple threat became the 2,500th person to be honored with a star on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, Jennifer Lopez received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contribution to the music world.
The mogul and triple threat became the 2,500th person to be honored with a star on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
"My dream was always to entertain, to be an artist. I did not seek to become a movie star, never thought about being famous or have money, I did not," she said to the crowd. "I just wanted to be good at whatever I did. I wanted to be a great actress, I wanted to be a singer, I wanted to be a great artist," he said moments before unveiling the star with her name.
Lopez, who spoke only English during the ceremony, wore a tight white T-shirt, a melon-colored skirt and black shoes, and carried a hairnet.
The Puerto Rican starlet said she takes inspiration from Sophia Loren, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Bette Midler, Rita Moreno and Jane Fonda, who attended the ceremony.
She was also joined by her mother, her children Emma and Max, and her boyfriend Casper Smart, as well as filmmaker Gregory Nava –who directed her in "Selena"– rap singer Pitbull and Keenen Ivory Wayans, from the comedy series "In Living Color."
Prior to the ceremony, she reached out to her fans to thank them for their support.
"I wouldn't be where I am today w/o all of YOU and your infinite love & dedication," Lopez tweeted.
"So excited for all of you to share this day with me!!!"
While it was confirmed in 2011 that Lopez would be getting a star, she choose to wait until now to officially accept it.
One of the biggest powerhouses in the entertainment industry, Lopez has been able to harness her Latino roots to create a multimillion-dollar empire.
"There's a big revolution going on, it's like a media and cultural revolution of Latinos here in the United States," she told The Associated Press last week.
"We're realizing our power. We're realizing that we matter here. You know, we're not just, you know, the guys working behind the scenes in the kitchens and as a plumber."
"It's a new day for women, it's a new day for Latinos, it's a new day," she said.
