Gwyneth Paltrow Was An Annoying Snob, Neighbors Say

If you're a homeowner in a quiet, well-to-do neighborhood, you'd better hope to God that Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't settle down in the vacant house up the road post-uncoupling. According to sources, the actress was the neighbor from hell.

As reported by the New York Post in early February, Gwyneth and Chris Martin's London neighbors were overjoyed when the couple moved to Los Angeles, citing their destructive construction habits and flashy cars as frequent annoyances. Now, their Los Angeles neighbors have begun expressing similar sentiments.

"There was always work being done at the house," revealed one source. "I only got annoyed when the workmen would illegally park in my driveway, and they hadn't even spoken to me about it." Worse still is that some of the couple's construction projects were allegedly outside the standards of their community's zoning laws, including the nine-foot gate Paltrow and Martin installed on their property.

The neighbors, however, don't seem to mind Martin as much as the do Paltrow. "We used to see Chris walking the dogs," said Brentwood resident Hilda McGonigle to Radar Online. "He was a really nice guy. He was the one with the talent; she was the one just writing cook books. To some people, their issues might get on people's nerves, but I personally didn't care. I didn't have much time for her, but I liked him."

"It's weird timing," another neighbor added. "[Chris Martin] was building a studio in the back of the house, so it makes no sense he wanted to leave here. He seemed happy. But [Paltrow] wasn't as popular with the street."

Probably most disturbing (and possibly quite untruthful) is the following remark from one of Paltrow's more timid neighbors who preferred to remain nameless: "I don’t want anything bad to happen to me, so I can’t say anything. Last time I did, then it was difficult, so now I don’t want any problems."

For that last person's sake, let's at least hope that Paltrow decides to forfeit ownership of her Brentwood pad and take up residence on a roaming houseboat far from Los Angeles.
