A Porsche once owned by British soccer star David Beckham has been sold on eBay for $217,000 to an anonymous bidder. The price was $71,000 more than the L.A. Galaxy midfielder paid for the German supercar when he purchased it new from Beverly Hills Porsche. Bidding began at just $100,000.

The matte-black 911 Turbo has 6,774 miles on the odometer and has received an extensive amount of modifications to both the body and interior. Its most prominent features are several “Twenty 23 Three” logos found on the upholstery, carpets, wheels, and at the center of all of the Porsche crests on the car. They are a reference to the jersey number Beckham has worn throughout his career.

Fitted with an automatic transmission that is perfect for Los Angeles traffic, the all-wheel-drive convertible is capable of speeds nearing 200 mph. Based on the license plate number, it appears to be the same car that Beckham famously dodged a speeding ticket in when a horde of paparazzi surrounded the vehicle just as a Los Angeles police office was about to write a summons for him back in 2008. Instead, Beckham was given a verbal warning and let on his way.

There’s no word on what the 35-year old plans to do with the proceeds from the sale, but his wife, Victoria, is a “brand ambassador” for the stylish Range Rover Evoque compact SUV, so he probably doesn’t have to buy her one of those. The one-time “Spice Girl” owns a white Porsche that was a perfect match for her hubby’s before he decided to pimp his out.
