Out with the old, in with the new, right?

The same holds true for the movie world, and there are definitely some hot-ticket films that should be on your must-watch list for 2013.

Here’s a short list of the big blockbusters that we’re waiting for:

  • A Good Day to Die Hard Release Date: Feb 14 He’s back! Just when you think John McClane was punched, shot, head-butted and kicked out, he saunters his way onto the big screen once again.  This time in France, McClane (Bruce Willis) is teaming up with an unlikely sidekick — his son (Jai Courtney). Their mission? To stop terrorists of course! Explosions, catchphrases, Willis … what could be better this Valentine’s Day?
  • Iron Man 3Release Date: May 3 Could this be the end of Iron Man? Super-villain Mandarin is unleashed, and he's hell-bent on sending Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) straight to hell! We’ve been through thick and thin with Iron Man from the very beginning, and we’re on the edge of our seats to see how his story continues.
  • Star Trek Into DarknessRelease Date: May 17 When we left off, Kirk and company were headed home, but that's easier said than done. During their travels, one of their own sets the fleet loose. Now, the team must navigate a war zone to stop the madness before it’s too late. We loved J.J. Abrams' last reboot, and with an all-star cast including Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, we’re all in.
  • Man of SteelRelease Date: June 14 Cue the music — The Man of Steel gets another silver screen reboot. So what’s so special about this one? For us, it’s all about the production. From the very limited trailer clues, the story is still the same: Clark Kent coming of age as a superhero. However, it also looks beautifully shot — richer and moving toward a more cinematic experience.  In addition, the infamous Lex Luthor is sitting this one out, and the evil General Zod makes an appearance. We can’t wait to see the next Superman (Henry Cavill) take flight.
  • Lone RangerRelease Date: July 3 Silver, Tonto and the Lone Ranger are moseying into theaters in Gore Verbinski’s big-budget action flick. Johnny Depp is Tonto, the lovable Native American sidekick, who shares screen time with Armie Hammer who plays a back-from-the-dead lawman. Grab your boots and spurs, and re-live this American western classic on the big screen.
  • The Hunger Games: Catching FireRelease Date: Nov. 22 Probably the most exciting release of 2013 is the next installment of the "Hunger Games" film trilogy.  Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) outsmarted the evil Capitol, risking their lives and families after they were crowned co-victors in the fight-to-the-death competition.  Now in their 75th year, the games are dirtier, darker and more deadly than ever. Add a revolution brewing across the Districts, and watch as Katniss, Peeta, Cinna, Haymitch and the whole crew are put to the ultimate test of survival. There you have it, folks. Keep an eye out for these great movies, and let us know what you're most excited about in the comments.
