A 24-year-old woman has died in hospital on Saturday after a double shooting while out celebrating her birthday in North London, police said.
Sabrina Moss was gunned down in the early hours of the morning.
Police said officers were called after reports of gunshots on Kilburn High Road. Another woman, also 24, was shot but not seriously injured in the incident. Both women were taken to London hospitals.
Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin of the Metropolitan Police said: "At this early stage, I believe the two women were innocent parties who were caught in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Officers from Operation Trident - which investigates gang crime and shootings in London - were at the scene and the death will be investigated by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
Separately, a 21-year-old man on Saturday became the fourth suspect to be arrested over the death of a teenager in east London.
The man was detained on suspicion of killing 16-year-old Ajmol Alom, who was stabbed to death on 13 August. The teenager was described by teachers at Langdon Park School in London borough, Tower Hamlets, as a star pupil.
