The Uffizi Gallery in Florence has announced price increases on single-entry tickets beginning Sept. 1, while inaugurating a new pricing schedule that includes discounted and priority entrance with annual passes and three-day tickets.
Director Eike Schmidt said Monday that the new pricing schedule is aimed at encouraging visitors to spend more time in all of the Uffizi Galleries' museums, including the Pitti Palace and Boboli Garden.
Daily entrance to the Uffizi, now 8 euros ($9.45), will increase to 12 euros during the low winter season and 20 euros the rest of the year. A three-day combined ticket, including Pitti and Boboli, will vary from 18 euros and 38 euros, including priority admittance.
An annual pass for all three will cost 70 euros, or 50 euros for the Uffizi alone.
