The Tunisian president's office says it has lifted the state of emergency imposed after a terror attack this summer that killed scores of people — mostly foreign tourists.
Friday's announcement carried by the state-run TAP news agency was expected.
The state of emergency was imposed on July 4 after a June attack at a luxury beach resort in Sousse that killed 38 tourists, mainly Britons. President Beji Caid Essebsi extended it at the end of July for two more months — until the end of September.
Under the state of emergency, the army was authorized to shoot to kill if under threat, and rallies were banned — though sometimes tolerated.
