China's official Xinhua News Agency says a group of knife-wielding men have attacked a train station in the southwestern province of Yunnan and caused injuries.
Xinhua did not provide more details about Saturday night's attack, but local media — citing eyewitnesses — have reported that there were deaths and injuries in the attack at the Kunming Railway Station.
Kunming city police said they did not have immediate information to release.
The state-run Yunnan News said the men were wearing uniforms when they stormed the railway station, and that gunshots were heard after police arrived.
A local television station said that several of the attackers were shot by police and that victims were being transported to local hospitals.
