Serbia's interior minister says 30 drug smugglers and dealers have been arrested in a joint operation with the German police.
Nebojsa Stefanovic said Tuesday police have confiscated some 300 kilograms of cocaine and discovered seven drug-processing laboratories in both Serbia and Germany.
Stefanovic described the 13-month action as "an excellent example of cooperation" between the Serbian and German police that "dealt a huge blow to the organized drug cartels."
Stefanovic says the suspects include a Belgrade soccer club fan leader. He says three suspects remain at large.
In neighboring Montenegro, authorities have arrested nine members of a criminal gang behind a recent spate in murders in the UNESCO-protected coastal town of Kotor — a top tourist resort.
An organized crime prosecutor said late Monday seven suspects are on the run.
