Saudi Arabia is denying that airstrikes by the coalition it leads in Yemen destroyed a small hospital run by Doctors Without Borders.
A statement Wednesday from the Saudi U.N. Mission said the coalition's nearest area of operations at the time of Monday's reported attack was close to the Saudi-Yemeni border, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of the hospital in Saada.
The statement said the Saudi mission "clarifies" that coalition aircraft didn't attack the hospital. It further clarified that the aid group provided the coalition with coordinates of the hospital which were placed on a list of forbidden targets.
The statement said an investigation is taking place to determine the cause of the attack.
