North Korea is denying any connection with the hacking of Sony over a new film that it says has defamed the country's image.
U.N. diplomat Kim Song told The Associated Press on Friday that his country rejects "The Interview," a satirical film about a plot to assassinate leader Kim Jong Un. But Kim Song says there is "no relation" to the hacking, which the FBI has blamed on the impoverished but nuclear-armed country.
"It made a mockery of our sovereignty," Kim says of the film.
North Korea has been tense as the U.N. Security Council prepares on Monday to discuss Pyongyang's human rights situation for the first time.
Kim says his country will not attend the meeting, accusing the United States of using the council as a weapon against Pyongyang.
